How do I activate X Shield?
Click on the X Shield extension icon in your browser toolbar and toggle "Shields Up" to activate the distraction-hiding features. When shields are up, all unnecessary UI elements on X.com will be hidden.
What does the Show/Hide Tweets button do?
When shields are up, a blue button appears at the top of your home timeline. This button lets you toggle the visibility of tweets in your feed while keeping other features accessible.
Does X Shield collect any data?
No, X Shield does not collect any personal data. The only information stored is your shields preference (up/down), which is saved locally in your browser and never transmitted to any servers.
Which browsers are supported?
X Shield works with Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and any Chromium-based browser that supports Manifest V3 extensions.
Can I customize what gets hidden?
Currently, X Shield uses a predefined set of elements to hide for optimal distraction reduction. Future updates may include customization options based on user feedback.
The extension isn't working correctly. What should I do?
First, try refreshing the X.com page. If issues persist, disable and re-enable the extension. Make sure you're using the latest version of your browser and that the extension has the necessary permissions for x.com.
